The Parish Council
The Parish Council is a legally recognised and elected body of local people charged with the responsibility of managing and maintaining some key elements of the village and village life.
The council receives funds, twice yearly, from your council tax (the amount is shown on your council tax bill) and strives to use this money fairly and evenly for the benefit of the whole village

The Community
The community of Romansleigh is made up of 4 working farms plus a small village of around 30 inhabitants and scattered properties throughout the parish.
We have the church of St. Rumon and a village hall, but no other public amenities.
Although small in number, the community is vibrant, friendly, welcoming and supportive.
Various community events are held throughout the year including film nights, the annual village fete (Romansleigh Revel), community get-togethers, quiz nights and much more.

The Surrounding Area
Romansleigh Parish is set among the hills and valleys of North Devon (around 4 miles south of South Molton, between Exmoor and Dartmoor. The parish lies approx. 4 miles south, south east of the market town of South Molton, nestling in the foothills of Exmoor, surrounded clockwise from the north by the Parishes of Mariansleigh, Meshaw, Chulmleigh and Kings Nympton.
North Devon is known for its dramatic cliffs, wild seas and surfing beaches. Natural features range from the biodiverse sand dunes at Braunton Burrows to rocky cliffs & coves along the South West Coast Path. The famous Tarka Trail footpath and cycleway passes by the medieval town of Barnstaple.
About Romansleigh
A civil parish within the North Devon District Council area.
Romansleigh is just over 4 miles south, south east of South Molton nestling in the hills between Exmoor and Dartmoor with a geographic area of 3.91 sq. miles with an estimated population of 100. It is surrounded clockwise from the north, by the Parishes of Mariansleigh, Meshaw, George Nympton and Kings Nympton.
The Parish Church is dedicated to St Rumon, believed to have been an Irish missionary who travelled the West Country spreading Christianity during the 6th Century AD.
